Hancock
7/9/08
This is one of Will Smith's movies that I actually enjoy.
The premise is a bit confusing if you're not paying attention, especially at the ending. Besides that, Hancock is an entertaining story about a terrible superhero supposedly named John Hancock (Smith), who saves lives and fights crime, but racks up damages in millions of dollars to the city while doing so. Because of this, he becomes highly unpopular; an outcast. However, after saving one careless man from being hit by a train (I never understood how one could be stupid enough to be hit by a train), Hancock gains a friend and begins to reform his drunken, selfish, and lackadaisical ways, even though the man's wife (Charlize Theron) cannot stand Hancock. Occasionally, though, he'll slip up; usually only after being called an "asshole."
Then there's a surprise halfway through the movie where it really steps up, and things get interesting. I'll leave that part alone.
7.9. Not bad; not bad at all, but maybe that's just me being biased due to Charlize Theron's performance.
