Cute, but nothing too special. Cory the penguin (mostly his voice) reminded me of someone in a somewhat negative way, but it wasn't anything serious. The movie itself was decent, and you could tell they put a lot of effort into getting the waves and speech just right for the atmosphere of surfing. They excelled at doing so, by the by. There was humor, and there was fun, but altogether, yes, it was a pretty kiddy movie. I can appreciate one or two of them now and then, but this time the rating suffered because I wasn't in a childlike, fun mood while watching. I liked Cody, somewhat, but he bothered me for some reason. Couldn't put my finger on it.
Surf's Up was put together very firmly and was decently entertaining, but I didn't get the most out of it simply because I am a few years beyond the age it was primarily intended for. It definitely was not bad. 4.9.
